This explains a LOT.

Very scientific. Explains the history of horses, from waaaaayyyyy back in the pre-historic era, and theorizes how and why certain behaviors and physical features developed over time. Describes many physical features of the horse, such as their vision and how it works, that explains the reasons for certain behaviors. I have been involved with horses, reading about them, studying them, owning them, and working with them, for over four decades, and I still was surprised at how much I am learning from this book. Probably the most informative book I have ever read on this subject. Purchased a second copy to send to a horse trainer friend, after she read parts of mine and asked to borrow it. I recommend this book especially for anyone who handles and works with horses regularly and wants to learn more about these complex creatures.

The Saddle Club Season 1 DVD

I just discovered this wonderful show recently, on Discovery Kids, and am a dedicated fan, at age 52. My husband tivo's it for me, and I watch it when I get home from work. I have loved horses all my life, and dreamed of going to ride in a stable where I would have friends who loved horses too. Some of the show is sort of corny (okay, it IS a kid's show!), but I love it just the same. My husband just shakes his head. WHEN IS SEASON #2 coming out on DVD? Someobdy let me know!

Can't beat a classic Hitchcock. This Collector's Edition has a documentary on the making of the movie, which really adds a lot, when you watch the film itself. There is so much artistry, suspense, and nuance, and not just a slash/gore murder movie.
