Good Jazz, good quality CD

The Jim Cullen Jazz Band is excellent entertainment and this album is a good representation of their work. It is my 3rd Jim Cullen album purchased through eBay. All were used but in very good condition. The CDs play perfectly and the jewel box and printed inserts were also in good condition. ebay is a great place to shop for recordings that are hard to find!

An Interesting Performance by a Master of the Beethoven Symphonies

This is Furtwangler's last recording of Beethoven's ninth symphony and was not release until 1998. It was recorded live with an ensemble smaller than we are used to hearing. One can hear individual voices in the chorus as opposed to the blend of voices we are more commonly used to. Sound quality is excellent. The performance is noteworthy for the slow tempo of the first movement. I would recommend this recording to those who are interested in different approach to the ninth symphony and have already obtained a reference performance for comparison (Karajan & Berlin PO, Berstein & Vienna P O or even Furtwangler with the Vienna PO).
