The Nikon Prostaff 440 Laser Rangefinder is an excellent instrument. I use it, along with a clinometer, to measure tree heights. It is able to shoot through small openings and clutter much better that newer 550 models and give accurate repeatable readings of the distance.

I wanted to get another to play with some long exposure still images, since I was pleased with it the first time I bought another one. . It also shoot HD RAW video with Magic Lantern Installed. A great camera for general purposes and for people starting out shooting videos.
