An exciting story
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. I first watched the movie, and I absolutely loved it. Usually, it is the other way around; book first, then the movie. But I thoroughly enjoyed both.
This book was very well written, Mark Watney is a very lovable character. Andy Weir wrote Watney to be this guy who makes a joke out of everything, even in spite of the situation he is in. I had a hard time putting this book down, it was very captivating.
I would recommend reading the book because it has several things that are absent from the movie.

Disappointing
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. There was no tutorial at all, it just throws you straight into the game with a few instructions on how to run the shop and that's it. You can't stock more than one item on each table (i.e. you have to put another strawberry down if someone buys it, meaning you have to keep restocking, and setting the prices). That gets very repetitive and boring. The charcters are not interesting in the slightest. I was very dissapointed, I imagined this being a lot better since Natsume made this game as well as Harvest Moon. "Harvest Moon: Magical Melody" has been my favorite game by them so far, but "A New Beginning" on the 3DS is good as well, though a little slow paced at the beginning.

Slow paced, and repetitive
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. The first Harvest Moon I ever played was Magical Melody on the GameCube. I absolutely adored that game as I was growing up, and I still do. Take this review with a grain of salt, considering I have not played too much of this game yet. But gosh, the beginning is incredibly slow paced with hardly anything to do besides scavenging the forest for bugs, wood, rocks, etc.
When you first start there are literally only 3 other people in the town besides your character. I completely understand that the game will open up as you play it, but it gets repetitive very quickly. In order for people to want to keep playing, there needs to be a variety of activities to do.
