Great if you need gigabit, unless you want LACP

It's a great device, being 4 gigabit ports, but sadly the device is unable to do LACP on these ports, leaving it useful only for single/redundant link setups. Still, it's a nice device and if you need SFP or more gigabit ports, it might be mandatory!

Great for fibre channel and FCoE or more ethernet ports

The products worked flawlessly in my pair of Nexus 5548's. These GEM's are capable of ethernet, fibre channel and fibre channel over ethernet, provided that you have the licenses. Of course, ethernet do not require any special license.

Amazing device for learning Cisco

I got my Cisco ASA 5510 today and fired it up. For a device made circa 2005, it looks and runs like something made last week using the latest IOS/ASDM! A recommended device for anyone looking to practice on Cisco or take their CCNA!
