The Frighteners

Now, this will not go down as one of Peter Jackson's masterpieces, but it is still a fun movie. Michael J. Fox gives his usual entertaining performance as he hustles people with the help of his two ghost friends. Jeffrey Combs (from re-animator fame) gets into the action as a wacked out FBI agent intent on accusing Fox's character of the murder of many people. I have to say, it's a fun movie that I can watch over and over again even though it's not a masterpiece.

Lasher by Anne Rice.....a nice signed copy

First of all, I must admit that I love the work of Anne Rice. That said, I did not purchase this for myself, but for my fiancee. She also loves Anne Rice and I thought that purchasing a signed copy would be very very nice. Now, finding a good signed copy is not easy, as Anne Rice usually personalizes her autographs in books. The best way to get an undedicated autographed book, is to buy one that has a bookplate in it. A bookplate is a small adheseve page, simular to a post it note, that is placed in the book. These are usually not dedicated and while this is not the prefered way to have a book signed, it does work. This is how this book was signed. For the record, books with bookplate autographs usually sell for much less then books signed on a page, so it is good for the pocket too!

Worth the read

Set in the D and D world, this continues the epic adventures of Drizzt. As always, Salvatore puts together a fun read complete with the adventure, humor and comradship we have come to expect from him. I highly recommend this one.
