Fine for the money but the lever is loose
The lever is too loose a fit (it still works but extra care must be taken). Otherwise, this is fine.

Super Quiet, high-quality vinyl
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. I've purchased a lot of high-end vinyl over the years and I'm skeptical of those claiming to have a superior product. So, to that end, I researched Pallas and determined they'd produce a high-quality pressing. Now, in this particular Nirvana Nevermind case, I don't know what they used as data input (I suspect a big .wav file) and I see no evidence they were handed the master tape and/and tried to do a 1/2 speed master, etc. Nevermind was always kind of a lo-fi outing and there's no evidence anyone in the audio chain had Steely Dan pretentions, nor any evidence of a digital front-end recording. So, in terms of "new found" information on the vinyl, I don't think you'll hear anything "new." That said, this is the quietest vinyl I've yet heard on my system...absolutely dead quiet...an amazing feat...and the 180g record is ruler-flat, too. I don't hear any engineering / tampering either. In = Out. A quality package.

Converts your expensive 2-channel amp into 5.1 w/o sacrifice
If you've invested $$$ into your two-channel stereo system but want to leverage your existing system to play Dolby Digital 5.1 DVDs *without sacrificing your two-channel system in any way* then this is Vantas unit is your only ticket. It's a terrific, unobtrusive 100 watt/3-channel amp and excellent D/A converter. Naturally, you'll need to add two rear speakers, a center channel (that's what its 3-channel amp powers) and a subwoofer. Vantas has a nifty trick called VTRACK that allows you to control the volume of your now 5.1 system using only your main stereo's volume control. That an amazing plus. NOTE: This system only does Dolby Digital 5.1. It will output a Pro Logic signal if it only gets stereo. DTS-only disks...you're out of luck. ALSO: You will want a TV that passes through a Dolby Digital signal via Toslink (optical) and a DVD player that can output Bitstream converted into Dolby Digital. LG makes such TVs and Samsung makes such DVD (Blu-Ray) players. The Vantas takes both optical and coax so you can decode directly from the TV via Optical and via the DVD via Coax. Final Note: The Vantas powers itself off if it doesn't get a signal on Coax or Optical and operates independently of your 2-channel system. That is, you can enjoy your 2-channel system as though the rest of your 3.1 add-on A/V system didn't exist. Super Sweet.
