Failed bulb design

These bulbs look great and are available on eBay for a good price. I bought 6 at short intervals. Initially, I was impressed. Seemed like a nice spectrum of light and was bright. Sorry to say that all 6 failed (as in 100% failure) within 2 months. More accurately within 6 weeks. The first failure I wrote off as normal, and I actually ordered a replacement. All of them subsequently cracked at the base, dimmed, and failed. I notified the seller that she/he was selling a bad product. The seller told me that said failure was previously reported by others who screwed the bulbs in too tight. I requested specs from Polaroid. They sent me a warranty application. There is no such thing as a light bulb torque wrench. So, I suggest that said bulbs are defective, and should be avoided. They may even be dangerous as evidenced by at least one that failed with a loud pop and alarming noises. You would be wise to avoid the bulbs unless you have a 6 week horizon. I have kept the failed bulbs, with the exception of the first one that failed if photos are required, or if this review is "poopooed".
