Recommended to 100 Percent / Zu 100 Prozent weiter zu empfehlen

When I first put the kit on it’s place at the frame I realized that the two bolts wich fix the fuse box look out of the top oft he frame of my Ssportster, so the kit can not lay plane on the frame. Therefore I cut a kind of washer out of a piece of thick saddle leather to stock up the level a little bit. Now the kit sits plane on the frame without wobbling. Another reason to do so was to avoid a scratchy contact between lacquered parts, the sit and the frame. So the washer is also a protective layer.
To change the old seat and to fix the solo seat kit means to change the original short bolt that fixes the rear fender to the frame into the longer bolt that fixes the seat kit, rear fender and frame. For this job you need to loose and lower the rear wheel, because it’s needed to have enough space to get to the lock nut unter the fender. I combined this job with a necessarily change of the tires.
The sitting position on the solo seat kit is remarkable higher than on the old seat. For me it‘s the perfect sitting position – I like it !
With the new solo seat kit you have springs under the seat and springs on the rear-wheel swing. So your sitting has a double suspension wich you should like. Sitting and driving is a little more wishy-washy with that but it’s o.k. for me.
I would say that sitting on the solo seat kit is much more comfortable than on my old seat, it’s manufacted in high quality and looks great. I would recommend the seat kit to 100 percent.

Als ich das Kit zum ersten Mal auf seinen Platz legte, fiel mir auf, dass die beiden Muttern, die den Sicherungskasten halten, ein wenig nach oben aus dem Rahmen meiner Sportster herausragten und das Kit dadurch nicht plan aufliegen konnte. Daher schnitt ich eine Art Unterlegscheibe aus einem Stück dicken Sattel Leders aus, um das Niveau etwas anzuheben. Dadurch sitzt das Kit nun plan auf dem Rahmen ohne zu kippeln. Ein weiterer Grund für diese Arbeit war zu vermeiden, dass die beiden lackierten Teile, das Sitz-Kit und der Rahmen, keinen Kratzer fördernden Kontakt haben. Die Unterlegscheibe ist also auch eine Art Schutzschicht.
Um den alten Sitz gegen das Kit auszutauschen, bedarf es des Tausches der originalen kurzen Schraube, die das hintere Schutzblech am Rahmen hält, gegen die längere Schraube auszutauschen, die dann das Kit, das hintere Schutzblech und den Rahmen zusammen hält. Für diese Arbeit muss das Hinterrad gelöst und abgesenkt werden, da etwas mehr Platz benötigt wird, um die Kontermutter der Schraube unter dem Schutzblech zu erreichen. Ich habe diese Arbeit mit einem notwendigen Reifenwechsel kombiniert.
Die Sitzposition auf dem neuen Solo Sitz Kit ist merklich höher als auf meiner alten Sitzbank. Für mich ist diese Sitzposition perfekt.
Durch das neue Solo Sitz Kit hat man nun Federn unter dem Sitz und eine Federung an der Hinterradschwinge. Also ist das Sitzen doppelt gefedert, was man mögen sollte. Das Sitzen und Fahren ist somit etwas wabbelig – für mich aber o.k. !
Das Sitzen auf dem Solo Sitz Kit ist wesentlich komfortabler als auf meiner alten Sitzbank, es ist in hoher Qualität verarbeitet und sieht großartig aus. Ich empfehle das Sitz Kit zu 100 Prozent weiter.
