Natizo Set of 8 Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons - With 1/8, 1/3 and 1/16...

    Sharp edges & bent handles
These are clearly just stamped out of sheet metal, and have not been finished at all: each spoon had sharp enough edges in places that I ended up smoothing the edges of each with 320 grit wet/dry sandpaper. The impact of the stamping also left many of the handles bent or torqued. These concerns were easy enough to address, but don't look for these to be anything but "bottom-end."
Language and Imagery in the Old Testament by J. C. L. Gibson (1998, Paperback)
    09 mars 2016
Excellent survey written by one of the great 'old-world' biblical experts
Professor John C. L. Gibson was Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament Studies at New College, University of Edinburgh until the early 1990s, and was a contributor of great depth in those fields over many decades. This book is a clear and thoughtful assessment of the writings of the Old Testament, particularly in terms of how the imagery of those books was perceived by the first readers and hearers. Written in a lucid and very readable style, but with penetrating depth. An example, at random, of this clarity and depth is the following: "The note of comfort, of a more hopeful future to come, is not prominent among the pre-exilic prophets, and in Amos (as we have seen), it is almost completely missing. It only comes into its own after the blow of exile had fallen, when the homeland was under foreign domination, and Jerusalem was but a shadow of her former self. Both Jeremiah and Ezekiel at the beginning of the exile are still full of judgement, rubbing in their 'I told you so' lesson; but they do turn themselves to speculation about the future much more than their predecessors." [p. 62]. Professor Gibson's approach to the material is unimpeachably academic, yet without diminishing the spiritual significance; the book is well-suited to study both from a secular as well as a spiritual starting point.
