This thing works.
1 personnes sur 1 ont jugé cet avis utile. This is my third four bank battery tender. Yeah, I know, that's a lot of battery tenders. Here's the thing, I haven't replaced a battery since I started using these and that goes back seven years now. I used to get about a year, maybe two, out of garden tractor batteries. The one in my old snapper is now five. The battery in my old Porsche is over ten. Okay, that car is easy on batteries but still, ten years? I have two garden tractor batteries in my MGB which are also coming up on ten years and test great every time.
I started using a battery tender on my regular cars when they were already five and seven years old. I was expecting to replace them but load testing shows they've gotten better over the last year of being hooked up to the battery tender. I'm watching them closely but everything looks great so far. I'm really impressed and I'm not into miracle snake oil and stuff like that. Having been a professional mechanic for fifty years I'm not easy to convince but battery tender is really getting there. I have had no failures of any kind with any Deltran battery tender I've owned, but I did have a knock off fail after a year or two. Good quality costs a little extra. I'm okay with that.
With the price of batteries getting pretty steep these things are looking like a good investment to me, especially as I have so many batteries to keep track of. Nice.

Not good
Out of the box this does not work as advertised. It will not turn, run true or submerge. With a enormous amount of finagling, adding weight, bending fins and the like, it will sort of work. Big disappointment for my grandson. Even with decades of experience in radio controlled boats I can only get very limited function out of this toy. Too bad. The components are fairly well made but the motors used for turning and submerging are too weak and cannot be operated while going forward or reverse without overloading the power available. Not recommended.

Works pretty well
It gets the humidity down well. The internal humidistat is somewhat inaccurate so it does run more than it really needs to but in my case that works fine. The catch bucket is easy to empty which is good as it is not large. I’m using a hose to a drain which works very well. I came shipped box in a box without padding so the case had sprung apart. Two screws made it an easy fix. It’s getting the job done. My next electric bill will tell more of the tale.
