Very good story, well told.
His usual excellent writing, the reader is absorbed into the story. Great plot, some surprises.

Good title
Kellerman's books are always absorbing and informative as well as being entertaining. His pal, Milo is a fascinating character.

Deserving of every award for writing.
I've read many books about WWII, but never a novel. It is more than a novel, it is an experience. The way the author uses language is mesmerizing. It's about a young German boy and young French girl, but it is not a romance novel. Their stories of personal courage and fortitude is like none other I've ever read. And there is no doubt that their stories were real events in pre- and post-war Europe. Do yourself a favor and read this book. It will change you.
