Music Band Vol.1, Good; Music Band Vol. 2...Not as Good

This 2 CD set shows War in transition. The first album, "The Music Band" was the last to feature the original group. The sound is tighter and the songs seem to have meaning to them. "The Music Band 2" has some new members and the sound is a lot different than what you're accustomed to from War. It has a bit of a disco type feel and the music seems like there was no thought put into it. I would recommend "The Music Band" but "The Music Band 2" is for those who just want it for their collection.

Solo Albums: Volume 2 - A Quiet Storm / Smokey's Family Robinson

Excellent CD. "A Quiet Storm" is such a great album it inspired a radio format. It's so good if it wasn't paired with "Smokey's Family Robinson" I'd say play it and press "repeat all" on the CD player. The other album's a good listen just not to the standard of "A Quiet Storm". Standouts are "Open", "So in Love", and "Castles Made of Sand". "An Old-Fashioned Man", a bonus track is also a nice song. Although expensive, this CD is a rare find. If you're a fan, I recommend it.

Minnie Riperton's Lost Gem

This album is Minnie's lost gem. It showcases her incredible vocal range with beautiful, lush string arrangements. Standouts include "Les Fleurs", "Completeness", the title track, and "Expecting". This is also the record she made before hitting it big with "Perfect Angel" which includes "Lovin' You". Definitely recommended!!! You won't be disappointed.
