These disc are excellent. Outstanding durability. 2 were accidentally wedged into the burner door by an operator error, both on separate occasions. It didn't even phase it, no scratches.

as the times of easy world class leadership of tools slips away

I'm not a pro machinist, but the offspring of the 40's and 50's home industrialist that did everything, by ambition, common sense and USA made tools. having been around that innovation, and now having all those quality usa made tools i try to continue supporting usa made, by paying higher price, researching more, because of experience that even 50+ yr old usa tools will outperform any new china based tools. so i see shars tools name on these and assume it's made in usa. adn immediately after hitting the confirm button I think, "no way this price is from usa steel." I seen right then that it was possibly made from a number of international producers. the tool does function, kind of sticky, but I get errors in measuring in the 2" range from .0013 to .0029 I don't remember but it's probably my fault. 10 bucks and this tool found its way into a garage filled with history of the best.
