There are better action games out there and this isn't Castlevania...

Let's get this out of the way right now this game is gorgeous! The art style looks wonderful and each scene is well framed to make you notice this fact! While the music enhances the image further. Unfortunately the framerate can't really keep up with the beauty and neither can the combat. Combat feels rather slow and laborious while none of your attacks really seem satisfying. And once you discover a certain combo you're bound to keep using that basic combo till the end simple because it's the fastest and easiest way to actually create an attack effect on your enemies. Another unfortunate issue is the camera zooms to far out often making it a chore to clearly see enemies or lineup jumps. Beyond the combat perils the games pacing seems to slow down to often when you discover a number of out of place puzzle mini games. Story wise the game's Castlevania brand seems thrown in and meaningless. If you're buying this because you're a Castlevania fan then beware this isn't Castlevania it's more like an experience loosely inspired by that series. So in the end... There's better actions games out there and this isn't Castlevania...so why bother.

After this game every action game after feels slow!!!

Metal Gear Rising is an action spin off of the Metal Gear Solid franchise but the story takes place a 4 years after MGS4. Metal Gear Rising is an action game and it won't let you forget it. But this is still Metal Gear 100%. The devs clearly love this franchise and every inch of the game smells of Metal Gear. From lite stealth segments, radio conversations, the art direction, the box and countless other elements..this is Metal Gear Solid on overdrive. The gameplay feels like a dream, just controlling Raiden feels really addicting and it makes the game hard to put down. The combat itself isn't as deep as Devil may Cry or Ninja Gaiden but it still offers a lot of subtle depth and finesse. But the bosses...ah..the bosses! The bosses and their music themes are the true stars of the game. They are full of character and the battles with them all feel creative and epic! The only real low point of the game is that it is really short and doesn't feature a lot of levels. What's there is really amazing though and offers a lot of replayablity which offers many many rewards. Make no mistake this is an action game that shouldn't be missed.
