The grouchy old curmudgeon that makes the machines go. Playing trains is about it these days. And fixing electrical stuff when I feel up to it.

Systam back-up
Having placed the drive in a USB driven portable enclosure, it serves as a system back-up. Being slightly larger(750G vs 1T) than the resident drive in my laptop, there is space for expansion and storage of movies if needed. Reliable only so far as the last time I accessed it, it was working.

A fuse for my bicycle battery....
I built an electric powed bicycle (a trike, 3 wheeler) a while back. The power supply is a small (automotive) battery. The drive mechanism consists of two(2) electric winch motors that run in series until a burst of speed, or power, is needed. I have overloads on the motors but not on the entire circuit.
This fuse and holder is the perfect solution for the entire high amperage circuit. It provides protection at the battery. The battery is capable of delivering several times the normal load for a short period. Long enough to melt the wiring. A large fuse here is mandatory. Period... This fuse hulder provides that protection and is (theoretically) repairable.

Update an old copy
I am an "old school" electronics man. I am retired and don't do design work for pay any more. But I still "tinker" and on occasion need to find an esoteric circuit. My existing copy(third) was literally coming apart at the seams so I ordered a new copy for the shelf.
