A Classic Performance of A Great Opera

I have to confess that I first heard this on LP many years ago. But it remains a standout performance - Scotto was in her best voice, as she was also for the DG recording of La Traviata, and she can wring a tear from my eye every time. Bergonzi is a fine Duke, while the title role of Rigoletto is given depth and feeling by the great Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. The La Scala orchestra under Kubelik's direction are superb as well.
