Interesting story, excellent animation.
Well worth watching. Inspiring and touching stories told mostly in an episodic fashion, but with an overall story arc that follows the development of the heroine from being almost a robot like soldier to someone who understands emotions, particularly her own. Ends leaving the question: there must be more to this story?
One negative: Both the cover jacket and DVD itself are labeled 'Episode 1 - 14 End', perhaps implying that the 'Violet Evergarden Special' is also included; However, it only contains the original 13 episode series. This has been mentioned to the vendor. Series is still excellent.
