ibi - The Smart Photo Manager with Wi-Fi - White

Awesome product! I personally recommended it to my family and friends.

I feel like I've uncovered a secret with Ibi. This is an awesome tool! I run a personal instance of nextcloud to backup my iphone photos but this tool, while propritary, runs faster backups and it is a piece of cake to run. I LOVE the concept of having a locally-based server for sharing photos with my inner circle. With the ibi tool I can share photos with my family and feel zero reservation that some tech giant may be mining these photos to help me pick out my next pair of sunglasses or something more nefarious. Huge sense of privacy gained by moving my content to this local cloud. Because the ibi product is basically a small 2.5" hd in a minimal case with plenty of airflow, it has the natural problem of a lack of redundancy. The ibi software offers a year of backup-to-the-cloud support for 40$ *per user per year* which seems expensive and it is not for me but it is realitively reasonable for 1-2 TB of backup. I don't know how well this product would perform if I exposed it to the outside of my network. I've invited a family member who doesn't live with us to upload to our ibi and it does not seem to work very well but realistically for this price having the device local and backing up photos on top of icloud or other tools - especially as google photos is changing this year makes great sense.
