Took a long time to ship, broken on receipt.
Both units were broken upon receipt. Threw in the trash.

A good machine
The EVO N1000C is a good basic machine. I have a problem with their approach to WiFi which is not internal but on the lid. But there are always PCMIA cards to plug in.
I have a couple of the N1000c models, of which one works and one has a problem. The one that works is used daily for email and what not. The other one has a problem with the IDE controller, which probably means the system board is bad.
The Compaq company was a good computer company. Period. For example you can change the CMOS clock by simply remove a cover and there it is. Some of the other machines I have require removing the case to get to the system board just to change the CMOS battery.
If you buy a good, working, EVO N1000C, you will have a great laptop to do all the things you do with laptops. IF not, your out a few bucks. Thats the name of the game.
