New condition and works great.
The caboose was purchased as a gift for a good friend. He was very pleased with the gift as he models in Western Pacific and needed a good model to go with his F-3's.
The dealer was very professional and timely in shipping the item. The whole transaction went smoothly and I was very pleased with the final result.

2343 Santa Fe F-3 Body Shells by Lionel
The shells were a reissue of the 1955/56 Santa-Fe F-3 body shells that corrected a paint flaw in the original product to conform to the same paint tone as the 1950 to 1953 F-3 units.
These shells do not fit the power unit of the 1950 to 1953 2343 F-3s without removing the horn unit. The 1955/56 units have the horn in the non powered unit and so these shells fit right onto these units and do in fact replace the old shells. The old shells can then be discarded and you will have a new set of F-3s with renewed decals and port hole covers.
The replacement shells came in the 1950/51 large GM decal style. and the 1955/56 decal style.
The change to using clips to secure the rear section of the shell was a step forward from the two corner screws on the rear of these shells as the screw holes often stripped or broke.
