The Five Invitations: Discovering What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fully
    26 févr. 2018
    Life-changer
This book is about utilizing the awareness and inevitability of death to make the most out of life. To avoid, deny or hide from the ever-present companion of all living things is to diminish the importance and quality of one's life - and of life itself. I read this immediately after helping my wife meet her end from terminal cancer, and I instinctively knew that the experiencing of helping a loved one die was a transformative experience - I would never be the same. This book was a Godsend in creating a philosophical framework for our experience and helping transform grief into wisdom. Read it...

CASIO ROCK WORTH LESS THAN CRUSHED GRAVEL
This is the single worst cell phone I've ever had the misfortune to own - I bought it reflexively without doing any serious product research after wearing out my Casio Boulder - a rugged-duty cell phone favored by those in active, physical lifestyles - firefighters, building contractors, etc, in demanding physical environments, with which I had been well pleased. I figured - if the boulder was good, the rock must be even better, because they've had a few years to improve it - right? WRONG! Absolutely everything about this POS is a step backward - from the dim outer display with tiny print that one absolutely CANNOT read in daylight, to the weak audio, to the absurd inner screen display (which highlights the name of the LAST person you called when you place a new call - WTF?), to the outer lens which cracked a WEEK into my ownership (my old Boulder's is still intact after being dropped repeatedly, having slid off roofs, and being buried under power tools - the Rock broke because I SAT DOWN with it in my back pocket - which the Boulder wouldn't even have registered) to the clunky main display. In short, this phone is a piece of JUNK - it's flat-out unbelievable to me how bad it is, considering how good its predecessor was. I have already bought a new phone (after doing the appropriate due diligence I whiffed before) and look forward to pitching this abomination in the bay. DO NOT BUY ONE!

    Best duct tape!
Best duct tape money can buy - would stick teflon to snail slime. Like most "best" things - not cheap - but worth the $$$$.
