I don't miss miss my Mit at all.
I bent my Mit Absolute and needed a good replacement. The feel of this this thing is solid with no play. It's also dead on accurate. If you hold the two in you hand the Origin cal feels every bit solid and well built. There is no jiggle or play with unit. The battery holder is much better than the Mit and my old Mit depth attachment fit like a charm. I'd place this head to head with the Mit any day. For $5 more than the standard unit you can get a depth gauge that comes in handy.
The ONLY negatives are that there is no Auto-Off. I've put in the case more than a few times just to find it still on at next use. 2032 flat-batts are cheap these days but it would be nice to save some battery life. The second is the while the data logging cable is Mit compatible it's just as expensive. The data cord at $80 cost more than the caliper itself so opted away from buying it.Lire l'avis complet...

Nice finish, to bad the parts don't fit well together. Thus, useless.
The main issue with the caliper is that the rule of the caliper sits loose in the guides of the slide. Thus, you end up with a .002 to .004 in accuracy. It did repeat to zero, but then the blades meet and prevent it from wobbling.
Mine also came with the battery that was in it dead. When I happened to open the case to check one other thing, the unit was turned on. Thus, the case was turning on the unit.
The finish on the caliper was very nice. It's just that the unit is not usable do to the looseness of the fit of the parts.

Get these.
There is no comparison between these calipers and some I got at Lowe's for the same price. The iGaging are a steal for $40. Don't waste your time or money on other brands.

I Absolutely Luv these Calipers
I would compare these to the much more expensive Mitoyos and I've had over the years had a number of others manufactures calipers and these stand out from the rest I've had or used.

Lives up to iGaging's reputation for accuracy.
The jaws run smoothly and firmly on the rack, and they measure within a couple thou at the tip as at the base. The display is large and clear and the controls are simple enough. I have only a few very minor dings:
1. It doesn't turn itself off, so you will drain the battery if you forget when you put it away.
2. It's sturdy enough for the shop, but I don't know if it would stand up to field work.

Basically Mitutoyo at 1/3 the price
Quality is great, not perfect but very close… very accurate and consistent, it has auto ON/OFF function which is very convenient, but sometimes if not used for an extended period of time it may not turn ON automatically but thats not really an issue… overal the best caliper for the money, if you don’t really need a Mitutoyo this is the best alternative for even less than half the price.Lire l'avis complet...
