Even with just a few of the rules, it is challenging. We've added more and more rules as we become comfortable. Easy, fast, and a Gateway Game!

After a recommendation by my brother, who called this a "Gateway" game (while gamers enjoy it, non-gamers can also really enjoy the game), my daughter and I played the game while looking back and forth at the rules. We both enjoyed the game very much, and we were surprised with the final score, too! I continually strived to complete roads, cities, and monasteries, but at the end, after tallying the incompletes, my daughter won by 2 points! Lire l'avis complet

Good game, basic expansions

Carcassonne is a nice intro game to board games. Fairly simple rules with a map that changes every time you play. This set includes the full base game along with the river and Abbott expansions.

Fun game that offers the level of complexity you choose

Easy to play right away but has plenty of depth to make it as strategic as you like. Attractive tiles and Meeples!

Simple, wholesome game for 2 to 5 players. Ages 7+

This game is one of the most simple ones out there. If you're not worried about little pieces, young children about the age of 7 can learn this.
