Great receiver for 2-channel listening

I am currently using it for 2-channel music listening and it works great. Sound quality is top notch. Feature set is good for an older receiver and runs cooler than some other av receivers.

Network functions include pandora, rhapsity, DLNA, and internet radio. USB is on board and can play back MP3 320kbps, WMA, FLAC 16/44-24/96, and others. The audio formats mentioned also applies to DLNA streaming. The network control app on ios and android is awesome. What i've noticed is certain functions of the app is av receiver dependent. One example is the lack of a on screen remote control in the app. I've owned the Yamaha RX V673 and it had that option in the app. Either that or new updates to the application tok that function out. I can't verify this because I no longer have the V673.

Auto room calibration is handled by YPAO single or multipoint setup system. Works great and does not modify EQ curves to aggresively. The phase, levels, and distance are near perfect.

The Yamaha RX A1010 has full 7.1-channel pre-outs for use with external power amps. I've tested the front L/R preouts with a Crown XLS2000 pro amplifier. The RX A1010 can fully drive the crown xls2000 to full power with a little more headroom to spare. The only downside to this and newer Yamaha receivers is no option to turn off the internal amplifiers when external amps are used.

Overal a great receiver that will last me a long time. I've always had great luck with Yamaha AVRs.

I'd buy it again.

I bought this to replace an Onkyo ht-809 included with the Onkyo ht-9300HX home theater in a box system.

This receiver works. Period.

Great sound, easy to use on screen display and a logically designed remote.

It has a display I can read across the room so I can actually use the remote! It also has on screen display for many of the options.

Two noteworthy items are the preamp outputs for the 7.x speakers so you can hook your own amp up if you desire, and the legacy support for devices with analog output for 5.1 sound like my old Sony DVD Jukebox.

I bought this after seeing it rated #3 in 2011 receivers. So why not buy #1 or #2? Simply the cost. This was two dollars and eighty censt shipped and the others were still over six bucks.

Go listen for yourself and play with the features. It just might work as well for you as it does for me.

My old Onkyo is now a 7.1 stereo system in my basement.

Yamaha RX V667 7.2 Channel Receiver

I've always been impressed by Yamaha products and this receiver is no exception. It's a 7.2 channel receiver that packs an insane amount of features into a modest price.

Before I made the purchase, I called Yamaha's customer service guys and asked them a few questions and they were able to answer everything for me. I got right to a person who spoke English and they knew their products (and actually said they had a full lab for testing stuff).

So I bought the receiver and hooked it up to my 3D TV setup, along with my Wii (component), X-box 360 (HDMI), DirecTV DVR (HDMI), Yamaha YDS-12 iPod dock and 3D Blu-ray player (HDMI). It was easy to install and I still have plenty of HDMI inputs left for future expansion. I ran the YPAO auto setup and it was over before I came back from getting a snack in the kitchen. It properly detected all of my 7.2 speakers and everything appears to be working as intended.

I must say that I really love the onscreen GUI menu. It's an animated display that overlays on top of whatever I'm watching, including the 3D content from DirecTV and my BD player.

I wanted a receiver with a powered Zone 2 so I could run a pair of speakers on my porch and this receiver handles that task no problem. Setup was easy, I just followed the PDF owner's manual that came in the box.

I haven't tried the HDMI Audio Return Channel yet, but I do plan on using it in the future.

Can't beat the sound!

I purchased the Yamaha RX-V667 to replace an older RCA receiver that finally gave up the ghost. I couldn't be happier with my purchase! The sound out of this unit mimics that of much higher priced units I've heard. Very crisp, Clear high tones, EXCELLENT surround effects, and great bass sound reproduction.

The online GUI is very easy to navigate and the YBAO room setup makes setting the individual speakers a breeze. The unit has plenty of HDMI ports for my system making a nice clean cable setup behind the receiver.

I am an audiophile and just can't get enough of good sound. I would recommend the Yamaha RX-V667 to anyone looking for a GREAT midrange receiver with plenty of power to get the job done.

My New Yamaha RX V667

I bought this unit to replace my JVC receiver, which wasn't 3D acceptable or high speed HDMI. On screen prompts makes set-up easy. Many bells and whistles to play with to make it YOUR sound. Several HDMI inputs allows you to connect a bunch of your toys, upscaleing composite, DVD and VHS is a great feature. Attach the optional Yamaha YDS11 dock and play your ipod/ipad right through your entertainment system. Lots of power and the clarity of sounds is wonderful. I am extremely happy with my purchase.Lire l'avis complet...

Yamaha RX V667

10-20-2010. I recently purchased a Yamaha RX V667 when my 8 year old H-K AV receiver died. In my research I found that there are really about 4 mid- priced AV units (Pioneer, Denon etc etc) that are always compared to each other in the reviews and any one would probably have done the job. I ultimately decided on the Yamaha unit and I am very satisified with the decision. It was easy to install, has the latest technology and sounds great in my media room. What else is there? No real issues, I'm still learning the features, it is everything I personally need.Lire l'avis complet...

Yamaha RX V667

The Yamaha Rx V667 is a great buy from usabargains. It has great sound and with all the hdmi inputs I still have room to grow. I also like the GUI easy to use and set up. I do think that the Ipod connectivity should have had more focus when designing it would have made it the best choice within its class. I had an old receiver from Sony that was great during its time however this one sounds so much better I am very pleased with this unit despite the lack of out of the box connectivity with the ipod.Lire l'avis complet...

Definitely recommended

I bought this product as it has one of the best review and I second the fact that it is awesome.
Pros:
6 HDMI inputs which is awesome..
Upscaling of videos which is very audible and visible on the videos
The calibration mic is very accurate.

Cons:
No Internet connectivity
The system display showing you information the screen needs more inspiration.
Subwoofer needs more clarity(or it could be a defect in the way I set it up.

However in short I am definitely enjoying it! Awesome sound system for my moneys worth.

Yamaha RX V667 A/V Receiver

Works great. Upscales the satellite from 780 and below to 1080P. Increases definition on my 55" screen. The 3D Effect works great too, The Blue Ray and downloaded 3d works great through the system. Additionally, the 7.2 (2 subwoofer) sound and the ability to tune how you weant to hear it, increases the total viewing effect.Lire l'avis complet...

"The ideal replacement"

I bought the Yamaha RX V667 7.2 Channel 630 watt Receiver to replace an older Sony model. I chose the Yamaha RX V667 because it allowed me to utilize the newer HDMI technology for connecting the various components I own. It is also the top rated model in it's class. To date it more than exceeds my expectations. The receiver that preceded that Sony was a Yamaha that I bought in 1983... it is still in use in another part of the house. So, I decided to go back to the reliable models I've ever owned. I guess I'm a Yamaha guy !Lire l'avis complet...
