The traveller's soundtrack

I took this CD on one of my long trips and it was excellent. Worlwide's main theme is about traveling and being away from home and it fits brilliantly when you're just at the hotel missing home or on a long plane or bus ride.

The first track, Old Friends looks back a on remembering past relationships, old friends and first loves. This was one of the main reasons why I bought the album, since I was pining for my first love then. The lovely lyrics just pulls on your heartstrings:

"I was told love should hold old friends
But when you leave you will close the door
Behind you
Don't we always
And time won't make amends
To old friends"

Another one of my favorites is "Talk to Me Like the Sea". This isn't included in any other EBTG album, so Worldwide is definitely a must buy just for this single. It has this definitively 80s beat to it, but also has that romantic feel, as a lot of EBTG songs do. I'm not usually a big fan of Ben Watts' singing, but I do love how he writes his songs. This is an underrated favorite with Ben and Tracy singing a duet about how it feels to be in love:

"All this short summer night long i've been waiting for you to just give me a sign that you feel this way too,
There are people on the streets for the weekend but i don't hear them,
There are others i could meet for the weekend but i don't see them,
Talk to me like the sea. It makes me want to get out of the city"

My third favorite song in this album is "One Place". This is to anyone who's never really had time to stay at one place too long or have travelled too much to ever stay at one place at a time. It's about missing home, or just even missing having a place to call your home:

"I would like to live like anybody else
In one place
And I could be happy and fulfilled
In one place"
