Greta Scacchi is exquisite! note: contains some nudity

Born of English mother and an Italian father Greta is a very interesting gal! In this truly greatest movie Greta displays the real supreme beauty of a British gal in the best most supreme level of schooling in the best sensibilities in that which we consider civilized in the old fashioned sense. In this tale which involves a love triangle of sorts (although she is hardly to be considered so with respect to Joss Ackland who plays her husband in a marriage of convenience) there is much to be gained in with respect to insight into polite squabbling leading to murder in the first degree. A very nice piece of writing and truly lovely acting. This rates as my most favorite movie of all time in the British genre.Lire l'avis complet...

Great acting with a fitting soundtrack.

Fox does an excellent job of re-telling a disturbing and in-your-face view of a 1940’s society gone mad. Based on a true story that centers on an unsolved murder, the movie chronicles the exploits of British aristocrats who fled to Kenya Africa, to escape the harsh realities of WWII. While the less fortunate Brits, stuck it out in England, these so-called “Happy Valley” residents were living the high life, and all it pertains. Expensive champagne, polo, cross-dressing, wife swapping orgies, drug-use, and of course murder was the sum of their daily routines. I enjoyed viewing the movie. The author’s extensive research and investigation of not only the murder, but the lifestyles of those involved, will offer the viewer a sense of inevitability and perhaps justification for the crime. I think most will find themselves engulfed with disgust, yet intrigued to see what happens next. There’s also the book, which bears the same title. Both are excellent and I highly recommend.Lire l'avis complet...
