Love him or loath him, but you can't ignore him! Brilliant read.

I bought this book to take away on holiday with me. I couldn't put it down once I'd started it. I know as a character Lord Al is not to everyone's liking but surely that is part of what makes him so facinating. People generally say they appreciate honesty and yet so few people can take his level of honesty. Here is a man who knows what he wants and goes full out to make it happen, never compromising his integrity, values or ethics to get there. He describes a level of loyalty to those close to him, both in business and his personal life that is sadly unrecognisable in todays society. He has been vilified and his name and reputation over many years has been called into question and yet he maintains a determination to challenge those that besmirch his hard work and reputation. Much of the sniping at him is bourne out of jealousy or the fact that he clearly "doesn't fit the mould" of an aristocrat. The earlier sniping in his career was that he "didn't fit the mould" of a typical British business man. Then there was the "not your usual football chairman". All in all he is not to be envied by these snipers for what he has and for what he has done because he has earned it all through hard graft and true 'entrepreneurial spirit'. He has had to prove himself time and again and even when he does something noteworthy he gets a hiding from certain elements of the press and media. In his own inimitable words "what you see is what you get" he's like his products, never cheap, just reasonably priced. People who judge him harshly should ask themselves why they do this? What is their experience or knowledge of the man? Is their information based on fact or fiction? And finally if they are in a position to judge him maybe they should ask themselves, is it because he "don't like liars, bullshitters, cheats and schmoozers"?Lire l'avis complet...

The title says it all, great value and a window into Alan Sugars life.

Great book giving an honest and straight forward insight into Alan Sugar's character and history from his early days and money making schemes through the successes and failures in business, he tells it like it was and is today, talks a lot of common sense and puts to one side his often one sided portrayed hardliner stance. Good pictures and lots of little indicators of his true nature, his likes and dislikes.Lire l'avis complet...

You will not want to put this book down a great holiday read.

Great book about a remarkable business man. How he can remember what he has done in such detail after all these years is amazing.I can't even remember what I done last month!
