Never get any of the Caviar Green drives from WD.

You can read a bunch of reviews all over the internet about how many of the green drives die on them. I am just another one of those people. I'm very upset at WD that they would produce such garbage.

I've been a solid supporter of WD drives over the years, but I learned the hard way that it's not worth the money to buy their "economical/eco-friendly" drives.

Bought 3 green drives in total (1TB, 2TB, 2TB). 1 of them developed a bunch of bad sectors and by God's grace, I was able to pull off all my info in the nick of time. Another one slowed to a crawl and now takes hours to copy a GB of data. I'm replacing the third one right away now because I'm not waiting around to see what happens.

I'm praying that the saying will be true: Once you go black, you never go back.

WD Black is on the attack, great Hard Drive!

Awesome HD and fast,Noise has not been any issue. slightly expensive but works flawless! Very Easy to partition and format, 2 terabtyes was easily accepted by windows 7 so no issues there and now my computer has plenty of room with this second Hard Drive, very happy with the purchase. I will still have to see how the longevity of this product holds up but most reviews speak well of this particular product and Western Digital has been around for quite some time, I put my personal stamp on this item for whatever that is worth!!Lire l'avis complet...

Western digital caviar black that means fast

It is a very good hard drive and fast. I had Hitachi 1TB and it was little noisy, so I upgraded to this 2TB drive and setup was very easy and drive is doing just fine. No noise like other drives.

2TB is a good enough space for anything

Its good better than normal HDD and pretty responsive. I would hope one day they make HDD fast as an SSD but overall a good storage place to store everything you need.

Poor product

The hard drives crystal couldnot complete a standard wipe process, aka did not work, I will be returning it today.
