I like moderately complex games

WarHammer 40K: SpaceMarine strikes that balance between difficulty/challenge and straightforward/ease of game-play. I feel satisfaction hacking and blowing away dozens of cockney-sounding Orc enemies, as I follow the rather interesting story. I'm halfway through by the time I wrote this review (spoiler alert: I'm just a little past the fight with the huge Orc leader, when the demons show up).

I hope there are no insurmountable surprises waiting for me.

Some people might find the regular auto-checkpoints or waves of monotonous-sounding (yet increasingly-powerful) enemies boring. Not me. See, as an "older" gentleman with a full-time job, exercise regimen, and a family, I like moderately SIMPLE games. This game is simple enough, has a compelling story, and doesn't make life too hard for me. That's why I enjoy it, especially at the lowest "Easy" mode. I don't play games to SUFFER or be more "H4RDK0RE". I play games to kinda zone out, be entertained, and amused. WarHammer 40K: SpaceMarine lets me do just that.

Good game, albeit campaign is short

The game's campaign mode (which is what I like to play) is short. Otherwise, nice game.

Good overlooked Third person shooter.

Actually a very fun pure action Third person Shooter game.Often overlooked during the generation it came out. You rally do feel like an over the tope space marine in this game.

For the Emperor!

This game was everything I expected from a Warhammer 40k game. It had action, mowing down tide after tide of ork, with fun gameplay and a John Carmack approach to story.

It's a great game, very easy of control. Graphics are wonderfull.Highly recommended. but no two-player split screen like the demo

Gameplay meh, OMGZ THEY GOT THUNDER HAMMERS!

This is not a bad hack and slash shooter, it's just extremely generic. Everything is there, just none of it is particularly awe inspiring. All that being said, nobody buying this game is buying it because it's revolutionizing it's gameplay genre, you're buying it because you want to be a space marine. To that end, it's fluff accurate and grimdark enough to make you very, very happy. The ability to finally attack stuff with a chainsword using Dynasty Warriors-type string combos is priceless and beautiful. It totally makes up for this game otherwise being a total 5/10Lire l'avis complet...
