It was okay. A bit long winded. Not Spielberg's best work but entertaining

It was okay. It doesn't pack the same punch that most horse movies do. They could have chopped about 30 minutes out of this film, and I don't think it would have hurt the story one bit.

It reminded me of the French film "A Very Long Engagement" replacing the lovers with a boy and his horse. A few teary moments for me, over all entertaining, but not stellar.

Also it didn't have a film quality to it... like it was shot on digital. Does anyone know?

Dialect cross over. Everyone in the film whether they were British, French or German, all have the same British accent. It was confusing. Anyway.

Sure it's not perfect film making, but it's entertainment none the less.

VERY TOUCHING MOVIE

Before you get comfortable, make sure the tissues are handy as this GREAT MOVIE will have you reaching for them. There are a couple of scenes that bothered me because of animal abuse issues, but Steven Spielberg assured everyone that there was no reason for concern and no animals were harmed in the filming. lovely movie. doesn't concentrate too much on the horrors of war, but doesn't downplay it either.

Seeing the light aftr the darkness

I saw this movie when it first came out & loved it. It is a powerful story: sad at times but very heartwarming. A lot of action but well presented. I will watch it again & again.

Riveting and Heartsoaring

I got this movie for a particular actor and found myself unable to stop watching. From beginning to end, it is riveting. This really has open my eyes to the wonders of a great movie.

Always loved this movie and the Broadway play. It was a great price. I highly recommend this. It brings a new image of The Great War.

War Horse, wonderful story with a good ending

Highly recommend....touching story about a wonderful horse....even though a war movie has a great ending...you'll never forget this one...
