Wait till next year

Our Book club wanted a book that wasn't about abused children or war and was fun to read. This was fun..especially if you grew up Catholic or are a Baseball fan when Baseball was King or love New York City! And funny as it seems, a book with pictures added to the fun..youi didn't have to imagine the characters...they were right there. I will love to see the author, Dois Goodwin, when she next appears on TV to enlighten us about US History and it's Politicians.

Wait Till Next Year

The book was excellent and sent quickly. I loved this book as it brought back my memories of the small town I grew up in and the adventures with friends and family.
I grew up a Cincinnati Reds fan but my father was not as deeply root in baseball as Doris's father was; my dad came to enjoy baseball from my enthusiasm for the game.
he trials and tribulation of growing up was hard sometimes as it brought back some of things I had forgotten, but I will keep this book and enjoy it over and over again.

Great baseball memoir.

The condition of this book was much less than advertised. I would rate it no better than fair. Considerable foxing on the edges of the pages.

Pretty dull for my tastes.

Goodwin is one of my favorite authors, but her memoir was nothing spectacular unless you are a baseball aficionado.
