A decent start to hopefully a long-running series.

I'll start off by saying that Legends of WrestleMania is in fact the game that the entire Legends of Wrestling trilogy SHOULD HAVE been.
On that note, you can't possibly get everything out this game that you can without importing the SmackDown Vs Raw 2009 save data (which I have not yet done).

The roster is varied and sure to instantly inspire feelings of nostalgia, as well as feelings of "Why didn't they include THIS guy?" for wrestlers like Randy Savage, Tully Blanchard (tag team partner of in-game character Arn Anderson), or perhaps Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat or Dean Malenko. Though the Create-A-Legend mode surely has enough resources by now to almost easily create these and other unrecognized Legends VISUALLY, the movelist and entrance resources cater almost exclusively to the legends ALREADY in the game, which forces enterprising wrestler-makers like myself to vastly improvise with both moves and entrance...at least until I can import the SvR 2009 data to expand on that.

The music (entrance themes) is exactly what you'd expect from WWE: whatever songs they didn't directly have access to, they had remade by their in-house musician Jim Johnston (like with Michael Hayes--his theme "Badstreet U.S.A." had to be remade to "Freebird Town" with guest vocals by none other than Mark "The Undertaker" Calloway). Any limitations with the game's soundtrack can be worked around by the fact that the game allows you to use your Custom Playlists to assign entrance music (including the real songs); the fact that you can't search WITHIN playlists, however, to hand-pick a single song to use is a glaring error committed in the coding of this and other similar games and forces some more creative workarounds once again.

The graphics are to be expected from a WWE game on a current-gen console: high-resolution, clear, and the custom characters are finally starting to look like they belong in the ring with the defaults. And for LoWM, they even made the Legends look cartoonish and larger-than-life (like we remembered them) like the very property WWE purchased that this game was based on, the now-bankrupt Acclaim's "Legends of Wrestling" series (mentioned above).

Gameplay takes some getting used to initially, but once you get the hang of it...THE GAME ACTUALLY BECOMES FUN TO PLAY! If only SmackDown could get back to this style of FUN gameplay. The computer (even on the easiest difficulty in the Tier mode) is challenging and will even kick out after 1 finisher (again, even on easiest), but it's never impossible, and the game encourages VARIETY in order to build up experience to buff up your created Legend.

Then there's the big "story mode" draw of the game, "Relive, Rewrite, Redefine", where you can re-enact classic WrestleMania matches and moments, change the outcomes of some heartbreaking losses, or even replay classic matches in completely different environments. This is where nostalgia REALLY benefits the game. :)

I highly recommend this game if you're nostalgic, have SvR 2009 to import, and lots of patience with creating a wrestler's moveset from the options available.

Thumbs-up.

GREAT game!

First, let me say it does take getting used to the controls. Once you get the hang of this then the game is so much fun. Anyone who grew up watching the legends in the game like I did will appreciate the game a little more but it is fun for anyone who enjoys wrestling games. The relive mode is so great, especially with the old footage showing you why the match took place. The ladder match is a bit different from the SD series but just as fun. The cell match is also different as all matches start on top of the cell which is odd.
The graphics of each wrestlemania arena is almost perfect. The wrestlers themselves look great. Some people complain they look too bulky but if you are a fan of the old arcade game Wrestlefest, you will love it. The only complaint in the game I have is the roster selection is a bit odd and small. I am a HUGE Arn Anderson fan but him, Micheal Hayes and a few others should not be in a game called the Legends of Wrestlemania considering they have not have had but one or no matches at all at Wrestlemania while guys like Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat and Demolition are left out. The game is well worth the money and should be given a try by any wrestling fan.

Legendary wrestlers are awesome

The graphics are good, but the smack down vs Raw 2009 ps3 wrestling game is better, graphics wise. The plus side on the game at hand though is it has the legendary wrestlers that were so cool to me as a child. Hulk Hogan, Andre the giant, stone cold steve austin, the rock, snake the jake and many more, because of this I love the game. I don't know the moves very well, they seem weird and are way different then the ps3 game that I am use to. Hopefully I will love it as much as my other wrestling game but so far not true. The only thing better about this specific game is the wrestlers in it.Lire l'avis complet...

Throwback Fun

The likes are easy , all the characters . It is sort of a guilty pleasure to see Bret Hart and the Ultimate Warrior in a WWF ...yes I said WWF. The drawback is that while most of the characters were in a wrestlemania some just wasnt. Michael PS Hyes for instance. While on the former Freebird couldnt they have atleast gotten closer to Badstreet USA? Hayes music on this game is at best horrid. The game has its issues , like I said its fun to see the old guys on a game and the ability to import SVR 09 is pretty cool. As far as renting or buying this game nostalgia is cool but replayability is way way down. IF you want a good rasslin game pick up one of the SVR games.Lire l'avis complet...

WWE Legends of WrestleMania Xbox 360 Good but not great

The Game takes you on a trip through some of WWE wrestling history if you want to make your own history there is no story mode for your wrestler, but if you want to relive certain matches that are selected by Vince McMahon or Yinnie as I like to call him!
There are a lot of moves you can try and the Character look like them selves back in there day, but there are some missing, also some of the Greats are there!
There are a mixed message i'm sending , but i don't know why. I like the game are in the middle of a History revived game.
So try it out and tell others what you think!

Average game, but disapointed!

I had high expectations for this game considering how much I liked SVR09 and I'm a big wrestling fan (especially of these wrestling games)

The game took SVR09 and made it worse. It's hard to move and the grappling system is frustrating. You can't even enjoy watching your finsher because you have to press a button that appears on-screen every 3 seconds.

The roster is awesome with legends I grew up watching. But Randy Savage not in the game is a let down. Otherwise, great roster.

The wrestlemania tour mode is cool with nice videos to watch before each match. But it's too short and many will probably not beat it again. I got all the xbox 360 achievements 1000/1000 in 2 days... Legend Killer is boring. You just defeat legend tiers, there is nothing to it.

I liked the game, but it's way too short. Good for about 2-5 days. Low replay value. RENT IT if you are a wrestling fan. I prefer SVR09...

WWE Legends of WrestleMania Microsoft Xbox 360

Great games, graphics are good I would give it a 8 out of 10 for the graphics and the realistic look and feel of the wrestlers. The gameplay is awesome so many moves to learn and do with each different legend. Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Honky Tonk Man, Junkyard Dog, Michael Hayes, and so many more, there is a create your own legend game you can do that's great you can customize your own legend in a million different ways. I would give this game a overall rating of 8 out of 10.Lire l'avis complet...

Prefect present for the nostalgic wrestling fan

I purchased this game a few weeks ago for my girlfriend's younger brother. He is a big wrestling fan and I thought this game would be an ideal to his xbox 360 collection. The game's controls are smooth and easy to play but complicated enough to not be a button mashing brawler. The wrestling characters are realistic and perform signature moves. Replay value is okay but, definitely a good buy if your a big 80's wrestling fan. I know my girlfriend's younger brother enjoys it.Lire l'avis complet...
