Happy I found this part!
Our Kitchenaid blender is 8 years old. Motor runs great but the teeth in this coupler wore out and caused the pitcher to leak. We read all the reviews and instructions on several sites. The installation technique that worked for us was to remove the bottom plate and hold the blade steady while unscrewing the coupler.

Very pleased; the hardest part of the whole assembly was getting it off the blade. It was a pain the the behind to get the old one out. Took me about 45 mins or so with struggle and lots of force; and I am a big man. Assembling the new part took about 1 min. :)
