A Diamond in the Rough Which Became a Great Classic in Film
Breakfast at Tiffany's is a genuine classic in world literature; colorful, lifelike, funny, and emotionally wrenching at times. Truman Capote crafted an original, rough diamond that was made into a huge and enchanting gem of a film. It's fun to trace creativity from its source to its near perfection. See the film first, to realize how timely it was.
The 1950's and '60's were very eccentric and bubbling with energy, both creative and destructive. Capote was a vivid, realistic writer, and a real oddball to boot. Everyone who lived around his time knew a character like Holly Golightly; funny, beautiful, frustrating, irresponsible, and memorable. Shakespeare would have written about her if he could have. Great stories from Truman Capote
The book has several stories, and I have only read the first -- "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Truman Capote was such a great writer, very efficient with his words but really painted a picture in the mind. The movie was great, and I wanted to read the book, before I realized that it was a short story, but I loved it even as much as the movie though the two are much different in many ways. I recommend to anyone of any age over 15 to read this story or any of Truman Capote's work, and you won't be disappointed.
The book was in great condition as I received it, almost like new. I did try to find a lower price but wanted one in great condition and I am not disappointed that I purchased this one.
The book cover does not look like the one pictured, and this was a little disappointing but I am still pleased. I think the one I received was the newer re-print of the book.Lire l'avis complet...

Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote
I watched the "Capote" movie that basically tells how he wrote the book "In Cold Blood". At the end, they told how Truman was never quite the same after the experience...so much so that he never wrote again.
This inspired me to do a study on the man. I decided to read one of his earlier books "Breakfast at Tiffanys" followed by his last book "In Cold Blood".
I found them both on eBay.
Breakfast at Tiffany's was well written but a rather trite topic by today's standards. It was, however, the perfect read to study Capote's transition from one realm to the next.Lire l'avis complet...

Breakfast At Tiffanys
My favorite book of all time. i think i have read it at least 50 times. its crazy/whacky romance. Truman capote was a brilliant writer and i love his style. you have to read the book to understand. im sure many people have seen the movie and never read the book. the book is worth reading. i love the movie just the same and i believe audrey hepburn did a wonderful job as holly golightly. but they are a little different. i recommend this book to anyone who belives that all types of love are possible no matter who you are. for any free-spirit as well. i think that everyone should read this.Lire l'avis complet...
Better than the Book
I purchased the book because I LOVED the movie. As I read the book, with an open mind, I realized how inconsistent in writing the author was. The story was choppy and the characters were two-sided. I'm actually shocked that the screenwriter of the movie were able to salvage the story and turn it into a classic.Lire l'avis complet...
Breakfast at Tiffany's and short stories
Truman Capote's writing is succinct and to the point, perfecting the editing of his own writing. The main story is emotive and captivating, but the short stories afterward are as good as they are varied. I have only three more books to read by Capote and I will be sad to have exhausted his body of work.Lire l'avis complet...
A masterpiece
One of the most enduring novel in modern English literature, this book is an incredible read. Capote, in stark contrast the horror and realism of "In Cold Blood" paints such a beautiful and evocating image of Holly Golightly that this book is bound to become a masterpiece in years to come.Lire l'avis complet...
