Great scanner
Saw a lot of negative comments on this model but mine is working well. It’s a very specialized unit so may not work for everyone, but it handles the 700/800 MHz simulcast systems here well, good audio, very nice display. Noticed the 460 MHz receive fair, but that’s been mentioned many times in comments, so don’t get this unit if you mainly monitor 460 MHz range. The LAN feature is great, very easy connection & setup using Proscan software with SDS200 connected thru my router at work using a wireless adapter. Now I can record on my PC & also stream my audio out thru Broadcastify & still have use of the internal speaker.Lire l'avis complet...

BEST Scanner Ever!
Uniden SDS200 is probably the BEST scanner I have every owned. I've had Many scanners through the years. This is the Easiest to program. The last 3 scanners I had professionally programmed. This time I did it myself, just by imputing my zip code. Custom searches are done on the fly, where it would take a whole series of steps and complicated instructions with previous Uniden or other mfg scanners. The SDS200 you can simply hit one button. You can scan nationally, or change the range of your scan down to 1 mile! There's 3 main buttons on the display, System, Dept & Channel. You simply push channel and your holding on that one channel. Push the Dept, and unpush the Channel, your now scanning everything in that selected Department. Works the same for type of System. Best screen I've ever seen and it's completely customizable with so many colors. Audio is extremely good. I've noticed that some of the Negative reviews were listed last year and I believe Uniden probably addressed them since them, because I didn't have any issues with mine. Awesome once you get it set up properly!
The units still have a small hum even after adding the fix that uniden supplies for free + small shipping charge. I found that if you use an external speaker and you plug it into headphone jack on front of radio instead of the speaker jack the hum is non existent at least to me. I realy love this unit now. Not as good as I expected from the most advanced scanner on the market today.
I own a whistler trx-2 and I prefer it over this SDS 200, I put my same scan list in the Uniden and it just would not do the job that my trx-2 does, the sds 200 was it and miss on a lot of the sites and frequencies, I don't know maybe I'm just jumping the gun and not gave it a chance but so far I would not recommend this over a Trx-1 or Trx-2 scanner especially seeing how you have to buy the DMR, NXDN, and Provoice upgrades from Uniden, come on this scanner is expensive enough, it should come with all that installed already, in the Trx-2 it was ready for everything right out of the gate, no need to buy upgrades, plain stupid and greedy of Uniden to charge extra for something that should come with their scanner, way to go Uniden, anyways I can't recommend this scanner for being way out in the sticks it doesn't do as good a good as the Trx-2 on weak signals and such. Inside SDS200 issues
Uniden had no business releasing this unit with the KNOWN static and pulsating noise it releases! Yes there’s a fix but, It requires either you or Uniden opening up the unit to put a new small plate Inside of it!! My unit needed TWO plates put in it to silence the static and pulsating noise!! Mine came with a plate installed ( unknown to me) and the noise was still disturbing. Imagine my surprise when I opened the unit to put a plate in it and I saw there was one already in place!! NOT COOL UNIDEN!! I put the second plate over the one that was already installed and only then did the noise disappear!! This is UNIDENS fault not the sellers.Lire l'avis complet...

Very Awesome scanner to own,love it,does alot.

SDS200 long time user review
After owing every scanner made since the 1970's I can tell you this radio is impressive. Receiver is very sensitive. The display gives lots of information. Having the ability to change colors which indicate something to the user is a real plus.
Now let’s be honest. This is not a tunable or crystal scanner. It’s not plug and play. Read the manual. Read marksscanners it explains the radio very well. Watch the YouTube Videos. Find a friend who has one and sit down for a while.
Yes, it is pricey. However, you do get your money’s worth. The keys for DMR and NXDN will add to you listening pleasure.
