From the beginning collector to one who can "write the book" I recommend this one to all......It contains so much information on every Barbie ever made from day one to 1995, I don't know how I did without this wonderful book!
It describes in great detail, in the first few pages, descriptions of Barbie body parts, vintage stand identification, the many styles of shoes....all this with pictures..........each vintage doll is fully described with beautiful photographs as well.
Don't look for vintage fashions in this book....it is mainly for doll identification along with playline (pink box) products. The format is nice, easy to use, with a great index listing in alphabetical order every doll made through 1995 with "values" (at the time) and original retail prices.
Two pictures for each boxed doll are shown, giving the reader a close-up of them. There is information for not only Barbie, but Ken, Tutti, and the whole "gang".
Again, this book is highly recommended to one and all.....you certainly will not be disappointed......Ms. Marcie Melillo has truly done a wonderful job in writing this book.............Lire l'avis complet...

Great asset to Barbie collecting

This book has great pictures in perfect sequential order of each Barbie and each issue of each Barbie (like the two issues of the short flip Francie). The little details are what I love in this book like the mention of the older Ricky doll's being tan and the later ones being pink -- I had both a pink and a tan ricky and I wondered why the difference! The author also mentions cool details under each doll like, for instance, how the arms are usually loose on this particular doll (one of the talking Barbie's -- forgot which one). With details like this, you would know if you bought that talking Barbie with tight arms that it was rare!Lire l'avis complet...

I have recently become a huge Barbie Collector and this includes books of this type. I really enjoyed the book, but probably not quite as much as the Encyclopedia of Barbie books. Should be "Barbie and Friends& Family"

Nice pictures, Great info on Barbie friends and family . Nice descriptions. I don't like the price guides in the back of the book. No info on outfits. We need a book on JUST outfits.
