Like the cover says "A Fantastic Movie"
If you loved Crimson Tide with Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington or The Hunt for Red October with Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin you are going to love this movie. U-571 is a older movie based on a true story, with a very young looking Jon Bon Jovi, Matthew McConaughey, Bill Paxton and the legendary Harvey Keitel.
I have been asking DVD stores to get this DVD for me for years. I first saw the video years ago and loved it, and now with the DVD's I love and collect I wanted a copy of this movie in the collection. DVD retailers would say "No sorry mate, they are not in production with that movie right now" I just thought I would check eBay and there it was... ready for me to buy.
When I got the DVD home in the mail the DVD didnt dissapoint. Watching some years later I beleive I have picked up on things I didnt see when I was younger.
The extra footage of the behind the scenes is a "must watch" as well. It explains the story of the Enigma machine they are looking to capture on the German Submarine, and actually interviews the men in which the story is based on.
It's a great keep sake DVD, made in a time when special effects were not used as much, so you know this was being done authentically.
