Interesting, believable plot. Great cast of actors! Good clean entertainment.

In my humble opinion, this is one of the best movies Schwarzenegger ever made. I never cared much for Bill Paxton's acting, so I enjoyed seeing him in this sniveling role. Eliza Dushku had a small part, but she played it excellently! This is one of those heart-warming movies that stays in your mind for years after you watch it.Lire l'avis complet...

True Lies (DVD, 2009)

This was a fun, big-budget movie with lots of high-dollar special effects. The entire film from start to finish is action packed, with lots of explosions and even real Harrier Jets!

Secret agent Harry Tasker (Schwarzenegger) lives a double life. A top notch spy "fixer" for Uncle Sam on the one hand, and a dull, traveling, computer salesman to his wife and family. His wife, Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis) is bored with him and their lifestyle and has an affair with a guy who pretends to be a spy. Harry catches her with a "granny-cam" and decides to pay her back by giving her a real lesson in the spy game. Of course, it all backfires when a group of terrorists kidnaps both of them, and they wind up in the middle of a terrorist plot to start WW-III. Now Harry and his partner, Gib (Tom Arnold), have to work to stop these guys when they get their hands on stolen nuclear weapons, and threaten to blow up Miami.

This film is loaded with great stunts and special effects. Charlton Heston makes a cameo as Harry's boss, the head of the super-secret anti-terrorism faction. This is almost like a James Bond movie, with so much action that it almost becomes overwhelming. In the end Harry steals a Harrier Jet to go after the terrorists, and Helen remarkably transforms from the cute housewife to the sexy super-spy contractor.

everyone WANTS to be a spy~ OH but then Harry is~ FUN~

PLOT: BORING Harry Tasker (Arnold) is a computer salesman who is happily married to Helen~(Jamie Lee Curtis) BUT Harry is really a spy and has lied to everyone~ BUT why is Helen suddenly telling some LIES of her own?

WHAT A FUN ADVENTURE~ Harry has it all a GREAT "cover" for his spying activities as the boring "computer salesman" why he puts his WIFE to sleep with his stories~ suddenly he learns HELEN is tell "lies" of her own and he suspects she is having an AFFAIR....suddenly Harry is wildly jealous and the fun begins with the man Helen is sneaking around with a SLEAZY liar trying to fake her into being a fake spy so he can have an affair with her~ Helen is clueless.... the part where Arnie and the CIA tracks down Helen and the "fake" spy is hilarious~ so Harry decides to GIVE HELEN (CURTIS) SOME REAL LESSONS in spying~ meanwhile~ they are both KIDNAPPED BY REAL TERRORISTS~ CONFUSED...sure~ that is the fun of all the "lies" they suddenly ADD up~ Arnold and Curtis shine when they "team" up to escape the terroristS and defuse some bombs~ the thrills are there from frame one to the end~ great chase scene with a helicopter and a limousine on a high way with AN INCOMPLETE BRIDGE~ THE SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKE YOU GASP AND the humor is there. EXCELLENT writing in this one. James Cameron (Titanic) directed it and every scene is funny and thrilling~ it flows along and after the confusion of all the lies clears we see the plot supply switch to high geat when Harry and Helen's daughter is KIDNAPPED BY THE TERRORIST TO MANIPULATE THEM EVEN MORE~ TOM ARNOLD is a side character and in this one does a very good job a a spy buddy of Arnolds~AND Tia Carrera as a "female" terrorist~ who is a real scene stealer~ one of the BEST and the special effects are OUTSTANDING~ EXCELLENT~ ADVENTURE~

I GIVE IT A SOLID 10 OUT OF 10 FOR THRILLS, FUN AND HUMOR~

An under appreciated and fun “spy” film

This is one of my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger films, and as an added bonus it also has Jamie Lee Curtis! Yeah, there is a lot of fluff - he is a spy and she thinks he is a vacuum cleaner salesman. In an attempt to add excitement to her life, Jamie Lee gets involved with a car salesman claiming to be a spy. This attracts Arnold's attention and ultimately brings her into his real life. There is a great scene in a hotel room with Arnold and Jamie Lee which is somewhat of a pivotal point, because this is where the terrorists truly enter the picture.

Then there are guns and bombs (including atomic weapons), kidnappings, Arnold’s sometimes subtle sense of humor, rescues and The Tango. The film also stars Tom Arnold in what I think is one of his best performances on film. I am not sure why this was never made available on BluRay. It is an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours!

Crazy story, an amazing cast, and superb direction makes True Lies one of the best Arnie films of all time.

Arnold, Jamie Lee, Bill Paxton, and Tom Arnold round out a prefect cast. True Lies is one of the funniest action films ever made.

One of the Govenator's Best

Arnold did "COME BACK" In 1994, when this movie was released, the critics slandered it terribly yet all us action movie lovers that like Arnold went wild for it. Opening scene was fantastic, exciting and almost believable from start to finish with Charlton Heston putting up a great Cameo appearance as Arny's boss and head of a super secret Government anti-terrorism faction. It's a plot of James Bond caliber and beyond. The cast was superb and who didn't love Arny commandeering a Harrier to seek retribution and protect the USA against terrorists with nukes? Bill Paxton played a great part as did Jamie Lee Curtis transforming from a mousy housewife to a hot bodied super spy contractor, 15 years before she became the "Activa Yogurt" lady.Lire l'avis complet...

The teaming of Schwarzenegger, Curtis & Arnold was genius! This is a great movie anytime, anywhere. It's got tons of action/spy/chases....yet comedic timing of Tom Arnold adds another level to the plot. Jamie Curtis is terrific....and so believable. You won't regret seeing this movie. Why doesn't this movie come in true widescreen???

Yes, True Lies is a great movie, one of my absolute favorites. My problem is I keep getting scammed on low quality DVDs. Is it actually a good quality picture? Is it true widescreen that actually fills the entire screen on a flatscreen tv? Or is it just a teeny weeny rectangle in the middle of my widescreen TV with a foot of black screen on each side of the picture? That's the review I need to see before I get conned into buying another copy of this movieLire l'avis complet...
