Tru cool max is the correct name for this trans cooler!
Installed in my 05 Escalade and dropped trans temp 60 degrees!! Trans temp was running 200 degrees with oem cooler now I have to push it to for temp gauge to rise to 140!!! Bought it so I can pull my 6,000 lb boat with no worries!! Great cooler! The only thing I did to modify the hardware sent with the cooler is I drilled out the hose barbed fittings with a 1/4 inch drill bit in a drill press cause they looked like they would have been lots of restriction with fluid traveling through them! Well constructed and easy to install. Used 3/8 steel tubing with flare nuts (5/8 thread) sourced from local auto parts store. Great cooler.
I have yet to verify trans temps reduction under heavy loads, I suspect from its design and larger surface area that it will function as others be reported.
Do know that it does not have a burp tube in it, (instructions did not call that out looked inside to verify myself), so be sure to mount it inverted, (fittings pointing up), so that it will fill completely otherwise it won’t and is no more effective than the teeny factory unit. Do you value your transmission?
If you live in high temperature areas, if you value your expensive transmission, you should get one of these tranny coolers. Great build, value, and product. I have not installed it yet, and I will come back and add my experience. I have used many tranny coolers previously, so this is not a new subject to me, but I will come back and give my review. When overkill is just enough...
This trans cooler will fix your problems. My 97 Diesel came from its previous owner with an overheating trans and a plugged cooler. I purchased this cooler with low temp bypass and was more than pleased. More recently and based on that experience, I purchased this cooler for an RV that had trans temp issues. Once again, I swatted a fly with a sledgehammer. This cooler will keep your rig cool whether you are tugging a 18000 GVW motor home or a gnarly diesel with its programmer set to kill. Install is straightforward and I really like the look behind the grill. The stacked plate design does an excellent job of modulating temperature based on oil viscosity. I do recommend the low temp bypass if operating the vehicle before reaching operating temperature. This cooler is more costly than most others but it is definitely worth it.Lire l'avis complet...

Installed this on 2011 GMC Sierra, trans was running almost 200 degrees just bare truck. Drove through Colorado mountains last week pulling 10’ enclosed with a 4 wheeler and never went above 157 degreeS! Awesome cooler, decently easy install. I purchased this product to install in a 2500hd silverado. Install went easy, they give you plenty hardware to help with the installation. The transmission is running so much colder it id great cant wait to see how it is when i have my camper hooked to it. I would buy this

Cheap, easy to install, works fantastic!
Put one in my 02 silverado in preparation for the 3000 stall converter. Haven't put the converter in yet, but I'm running 50 degrees cooler on the highway! That's with doing away with the factory aux tranny cooler and using only the in-radiator and the 40k!
Install was suuuuuper easy, using only what came in the kit. Took an hour. I'd put one of these on a stock, non-towing vehicle just because. They're great.Lire l'avis complet...

I have it on my 2007 Silverado z-71 My temps were at 190°F on a 4L60E 232,000 miles so I put this on and immediately dropped to 135°F in city and 155°F on highway my MPG also went up in guessing since I did a tranny flush aswell .. everything is going smooth I love this product and recomend to any one!!!! Great cooler ! Nice quality
If you have the space, this is a great cooler, nice quality , great price & comes with everything you need. I replaced my previous factory aux cooler and an additional 15k cooler (2 coolers) with this one and My average trans temp dropped approx another 15F .. (95F ambient) average normal operating temps with stock cooler was approx 190F , with an added 20k cooler and retaining the factory dropped to approx 175F and now with both replaced by this one, approx 155-160F cools the trans fluid a lot faster after a long uphill Run etc than previously. So far haven’t gotten it above 205F loaded and uphill whereas previously I reached 225F plus. I actually noticed my engine coolant temps average has dropped from 195F to 190-191F (95F ambient since installing it as well, perhaps it lowered trans fluid temps going in enough to take some stress off of radiator.? I had to do a couple of mods to fit it but it turned out great and it came with everything I needed to install it. Overall I’m very happy with it. I just ordered the bypass valve and will try it without the radiator to see what happens.Lire l'avis complet...
