Addictive

Addictive! The graphics are spot on for a PS2 game and the game play is pretty good. Like all games there is a learning curve about what buttons do sometimes and some of the items like keeping the customer happy seemed vague at first. As long as you keep up with the "mission" section in the top menu everything else starts falling into place. First level I could not figure out how to advance and turned out I had forgotten to do the mission challenges. Those have to be fairly complete in order to advance to better rides, games and food stalls and the next park level.

The only con in the game for me is building the actual roller coaster. Build them FIRST - otherwise everything else you build or install will have to be moved or SOLD. And while in the middle of building the coaster/race tracks the ONLY option you have is to SELL any game/ride/stall that overlaps into the space the coaster wants to be in.

My other issues with the coaster/track are you can ONLY edit from the end of the track. So if you want to make a better loop in the middle of the track (say 45 track pieces back) you have to CLEAR every track piece backwards to reach the one area you wanted to expand. So all your work from the end station to the spot to be changed has to be re-built and good luck remembering exactly what it looked like. There is a tutorial section in the menu that is great. There is even a place where you can build and save tracks for later use, but ANY obstacle in your game world that is non-moveable (park borders/walls) will not allow you to use your pre-built track you designed outside the park.

Finally, while building the track in the park you can tend to forget where the track started especially if you build a huge track before all your parks power gets used up and the auto-track completion is mildly helpful if you are within half a dozen pieces of completing your coaster.

Still a 5 because of all the other mini games, rides to make your head swim and guest interactions to boost scores, money and park happiness. Have FUN!

Thrillville - Master of "carnivals"

This game had jumped out at the game players of my household, the first time we saw it advertised during the holidya shopping season. Wow, what a cool game. It flew off the shelves, and we couldn't find it.

After renting the game, and getting to the core of the ride maker, we decided to buy it.

We like the mini games, and arcade mode of the game, so when you can't play the simulation, you can challange other players to mini games and races.

While the game play is fun, it can be bogged down by conversation and challanges. This "feature" is rather boring, and find that the information from "visitors" of the park are hardly useful.

The building of rides are easy and fun, but watch out for power use!

Thrillville

This is a game that we purchased for our 5 year-old daughter. It is very easy for her to figure out what needs to be done to play this game. The graphics are very good and the quality of game play is good also. It helps her learn some strategy as well as being plain and simple fun.

The object of the game is to build a theme park and make money. Some of the mini-games are harder to play than others, but then what would the challenge be if you were able to play this game and finish it in an hour. It does have a pretty good replay value to my daughter.

Awesome Simulation Game!!!

Thrillville is a great game to play. As the park manager you can do it all. You are in charge of building rides, and then you can ride on them too. You also can just walk around the park and talk to people. It does give you the ability to "flirt" with people as well, but these lines are all just pretty cheesy pick up lines. Managing the park finances is great and you can earn extra cash by completing goals in the park, and playing the games. My 11 year old son enjoys the game, and as his non-coordinated mom, it is a video game that I can play as well. He offers to help me make it through the race games, or just laughs loudly as I fail to complete the course as quickly as the computer opponents.Lire l'avis complet...

Worked great. I got the game quickly. Put it in to make sure it worked in the morning. It did. Played for a bit. Went to play the game again that night and it wouldn’t be recognized. Other ps2 games would. Sad. Got 2 dead thrillville games now. Lire l'avis complet...

Not horrible, but not great either.

The game is ok. The tasks aren't that difficult, mini-games enjoyable. Some of the controls are a bit strange, but once you get use to them it isn't a problem. I've only played a few hours but it is clear the game can be completed in a matter of a few days. The graphics aren't great, old game / lower quality graphics played on a newer HD TV, kinda hard to see. Getting to ride the rides, mostly pointless, not to mention if you a sensitive to motion or flashing lights the game may cause you to get sick.
This is the kind of game one would play if they were bored and needed something to do but they didn't want to have to work too hard at a game.
You can slightly customize your avatar, options are limited.
The worst part of the game is having to talk to park guests, you've got an entire list of "conversations" you have to have to earn points. The conversations are dull, pointless and redundant.

I will probably play it to completion then sell it.

A fun day at the park

When I ordered Thrillville, I was not sure what I was getting. I am always in the market for multi player game,(they are so hard to find), so my kids, husband and myself can play together. Was this game going to be boring, after all, who wants to build a theme park. WOW! Was I surprised. I sat down and started to play. Thrilleville not only lets you build a theme park, but it gives you challanges to help you build a better park. You talk to your guests, play games with theme, try to cheer them up, or get them to be less lonely. It shows you how to market your park, maintain your park, while having fun. There are lots of games and rides to unlock, and the more done you get with your park, the faster you get another park to build. Another thing I like about this game is that you no only place pre-made tracks and coasters, you can actually design your own. No sooner then I started to play, my son, daughter, and husband all wanted to play. I think the only complaints I have would be that there are only three say slots, and it seemes that when you are in party mode, (multi player mode), you can only play three holes of mini golf. Other then that, WE ALL LOVE THIS GAME!!!Lire l'avis complet...

thrillville rocks!

i've played every rollercoaster tycoon game there (currently) is, up to rct3: wild!, and each game/expansion that came after was, to me, more fun than the previous one. then i bought thrillville for my ps2 and found it even more fun to play. the only downside, albeit a small one, is training mechanics. it's also hard getting high scores in the challenge games, too. i'd recommend this game highly to anyone. i give it a strong b+.Lire l'avis complet...

thrilleville is a must for PS2 owners!

This game is excellent for players of any age! I have 3 childern aged 6-11 and they all play this game! My husband I must admit plays for hours as well. It is packed full of fun! You are a theme park manager and you get to build rides, attractions, food and snack stands, even bathrooms! Train staff and interact with park visitors. The great part of this game is that you can play and ride on all the attractions in your park alone or with visitors you make friends with! There are so many atractions in the game you can play with its like a 100 games in one!Everyone must own this game!Lire l'avis complet...
