Southern gospel meets Ben Harper, A+!

An excellent release. I am so glad that Ben and "The Blind Boy's" got together for this project. There is not a single bad song here, not one! What struck me the most was just how well the harmony is. It's not like going to church, although every single track here is or was a traditional gospel song, its more like a way of taking old material and making it new and modern and refreshing then giving it appeal to a much larger and wider audience. Think Zeppelin I from 1968, how they took gospel/spiritual's and old blues standards and turned them into their own by remaking them in an electric blues form that refreshed the music and transcended generations. Yes, this project is just like that. If your a "Blind Boy's" fan, or a Ben Harper fan, or just a person who loves great harmony then you'll love owning this cd.Lire l'avis complet...
