A fine selection of unique music

With their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, KISS can still be regarded as a band that has stood the test of time. 40 years after their debut album in 1973, they seemingly continue the trend of a full-fledged rock institution. Although there were various band members from time to time, it is the most recognized foursome of Ace Frehley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss and Paul Stanley that have remained as the definitive line-up. And, while there have been other "best-of" CDs offered, this collection is, by far, the finest. spanning 18 years from 1973 to 1991. The songs here represent some remarkable and influential music-making. It features stellar tracks such as "Calling Dr. Love", "Christine Sixteen", "Hard Luck Woman", "Beth", "Detroit Rock City", "Shout It Out Loud", "Love Gun" and "Forever". There is also the inclusion of a song from one of the KISS solo albums from 1978: this one being "New York Groove" by Ace Frehley. Though it might seem as though that the band may not be churning out any hits these days, they still have a back-log of these songs to fall back on. What's not to love?

I bought this CD for my son. I made the mistake of showing him who KISS was, and letting him listen to a few KISS songs, and now it is all he talks about.(My son is 5 years old!) This CD is great because it has a very good selection of KISS's greatest songs, best of the old, best of the new. Must be why they called it The VERY Best of KISS! good compilation for new fans

KISS has been my favorite band since their first album and now my kids have started showing interest. KISS has plenty of compilation CDs out there with lots of different versions of some of their greatest tunes. Similar to greatest KISS released in 1997, this CD offers a nice collection of original versions of some KISS classics as well as some lesser known tracks. Well rounded 'best of' package.

This has 2 of the best songs off of the first 3 albums then 3 of the best off 4th - 6th albums, 1 hit from Ace's solo album then 5 songs from the group's later albums. About all this is missing is 'Shock Me'. Good sound quality.Lire l'avis complet...
