Secret Of Chimneys by Agatha Christie

I purchased this book after seeing the PBS Masterpiece Theatre adaption, and thinking that since the book is 'always better than the movie', I decided to get the book to tie up the loose ends left in my mind after watching the movie. Unfortunately, I ended up quite disappointed, since as it turns out, the PBS adaption was a far cry from the original. PBS made it into a 'Miss Marple' mystery, and the original had nothing to do with Miss Marple. The plot and sequence of events in the PBS adaption was quite intriguing, but again, nothing like the original by AC aside from the location, some of the names of people involved, and a few basic plot elements. So although I enjoyed reading the original AC book, I was left somewhat frustrated becasues of the lack of similarity to the PBS movie. Of course, I guess that's not really anyone's fault (especially not AC's), but I now know to take the PBS presentation with the proverbial 'grain of salt' when it comes to thinking they are truly based on the original work!Lire l'avis complet...

Once I started reading the book it fell apart. Condition of the book was not accurate.
