The Scarlet Letter (1996, VHS)
The Scarlet Letter is full of adventure, and romance. The setting of the movie is in the 1600's and fornication and adultry is punishable by death. Demi Moore's husband is prsumed dead by indians. Demi get pregnant by the church pastor. She is put in prison for this until she gives birth in prision by a midwife. They let her out of jail, but then they put jail in her to follow her the rest of her life. She wears a BIG "A" on her chest while in public to mark her as an adultrist. A drummer boy follows her everywhere betting the drum to torment Demi in public places. The baby is a little girl and ages to the age of 3 or so. Then out of no where, Demi's husband shows up at her front door one night. Demi's husband is more of a task master than a husband and friend to her. He is actually a very evil man. He lived as a savage for several years captured by the indians and force to live as their culture. Finally the pastor makes a public announcement that he is the fornicator with Demi and the father of the child. He ends up by his own volunteering to put a rope around his neck to be publicly hung. Seconds before he is hung, indians attack the village. He takes the noose from his neck and the necks of the comdemned witches. Full war breaks out and all attention is on the war and the pastor and his common law wife Demi run from the village. They never return. They travel far away to start a new life together as a family of three. The pastor greatly loved Demi, and his little girl.

this is one of the most exciting movies with demi moore ever. it is suspensful, and very sensual love scenes of all times. two thumbs way up!!
