I Love it but you might not
I will preface my review by saying that these type of books are generally very polarizing: either you love it because the message speaks clearly to your heart, or you're compelled to prove it inaccurate because it does not. Having said that, I truly love this book because it has the special ability to always put me in that state of amazement whenever I read it. I have read it beginning to end, but I really use it to help me enter the 'now' by reading just a few passages. For me, it does not matter which passage, I can literally open any page and read a few lines, and I am there. Even thinking about this book relaxes my mind and puts me in that state. For that, I consider it very special. This is probably the 5th or 6th copy I am buying, because I keep giving them away. I don't claim that this is the only book that can do such a thing, but it does for me. I can also totally understand if you think it's a bunch of crap, but I can't deny what it does for me, and maybe in the end that's truly what's important.Lire l'avis complet...

Got a great deal in this wonderful book. I wasn't in place to be able to understand and enjoy the content in previous years, however; I am deeply enjoying it now. I am really learning a lot.

This book will open your inner eye
The Power of Now (TPON) has the power to fundamentally and profoundly change your life if read with an open mind (or "no-mind" - inside joke). It gives you a radically different perspective on life and teaches you to find peace within, no matter your outer circumstances. Some may find the reading a bit difficult at first, but keep with it and all will become clear as the author's concepts become easier to understand. Don't let the subtitle "a guide to spiritual transformation" scare you off...Tolle writes from a non-denominational viewpoint and his insights are more psychological than religious, although you will likely want to explore your spiritual side more deeply once you read TPON. His concepts are strongly influenced by Zen Buddhism, but you wouldn't know that unless you've already studied Zen. I like how he explains some of Christianity's confusing concepts with clear interpretations of Jesus' teachings. But the overall concept is in becoming truly "aware/conscious" in the present, and letting go of neurotic mind-patterns: very simple, but not easy. TPON will give you practical ways to practice this. It's a bit repetitive, but sometimes re-stating the same concept in a different way will reach different readers more clearly. It only serves to drive home the book's excellent principles. Life is more than just a positive side.
It features ideas/strategies relating to the concept of focusing on the moment. To accomplish the goal, one has to identify the positive concept and acknowledge its value as it occurs.
When one identifies that moment, sensitivity to that event occurs, it is recognized, and replicated t throughout your day.
Looking for moments of positivity becomes and valuable process and goal. Small, apparently insignificant events rise to a more conscious level of thought. And the acknowledgement begins once more.
Looking for, identifying, searching, and promoting the positive becomes how an individual navigates one's everyday life. Each of these "now" moments fill the space of our lives and attract us to that NOW moment.

Inspirational and transformative.
I'm not one to follow fads or the latest "revelations", but I love this book. and have under-lined and dog-eared many sections that are meaningful to me. I read a little bit every day to help keep me "present"; I probably read it three of four times already. It is a constant source of inspiration. While this book IS for everybody, I believe some have more difficulty abandoning their "egoic mind" and embracing the message of this book. This book will change your current mind set or it will be meaningless to you if you are not ready to be enlightened, and that's ok because not all of us are ready for this at the same time. If you are seeking Spirituality rather than just Religion or Idealology then this book is a must read for you. It takes us deeper into the pre conditioned thoughts that we live with everyday and teaches us to focus in the "Now", "the Present Moment." I absolutely love the content of this book! Eckhart Tolle has the most amazing outlook on life of any person I have ever read. Easy to understand and to the point. All of this man's material is outstanding and this is most profoundly true for this book as well. This is one of those books that you will want to pass around to your friends and family members because everyone can benefit from it no matter where they are along the path of life's journey.
