Marvelous story, great production values.
Great book. The quality of the printing is great and the size and weight of the thing is hefty but not excessive. The reproduction and paper is top notch and the extras added to the end are a delight, they are 60 pages with all the variant covers and a lot of sketchbook material. As for the material included in the book, it's a great story, one of the best things Morrison has done in the last few years, accompanied with a group of stellar artists. Every one is perfect for the issue they were chosen for and the things that Quitely, Stewart, Sprouse, Manhke and Oliver do in these pages are great and in some cases utter innovative.
The only drawback for this edition is that the binding is excessively tight and some double page spreads lose some details in the middle (for example: the double page spread in Thunderworld Adventures when Captain Marvel travels to the Rock of Eternity). Also: why isn't there a prologue written by someone? It feels like they rushed production and left the book standing on its own. Which isn't a bad thing all in all, but it would have been nice some sort of contextualization for newer readers.
But, more than that, it's a utterly wonderful book.Lire l'avis complet...
