A badass black dude

Eugene Levy is the quintessential milquetoast white guy and Samuel L. Jackson is the definitive badass black dude. The producers of The Man calculated that the collision of their innate racial qualities would produce the kind of comic sparks that Levy and Queen Latifah set off in Bringing Down the House. When ATF agent Derrick Vann (Jackson, Pulp Fiction) learns that his partner is dead and a cache of guns has been stolen, he sets up a sting to get the weapons back. But into the middle of his scheme stumbles Andy Fiddler (Levy, A Mighty Wind, American Pie), a dental supplies salesman from Wisconsin. From there unspools some formulaic buddy-movie pap: Vann gives Fiddler a dose of excitement and Fiddler teaches Vann a little compassion and trust as they improbably track down the bad guys. To a degree, the producers were right--the interplay between Levy's Groucho eyebrows and Jackson's burning scowl provides the only juice this movie has. The Man doesn't deserve actors as talented as Levy and Jackson, but there's no denying they apply themselves diligently and squeeze out a few laughs.
A case of mistaken identity forces a Federal agent (Jackson) and a dental supply salesman (Levy) to team up as they speed through the streets of Detroit to pull off a sting operation and solve the murder of the agent's former partner.Lire l'avis complet...

One of the better made comedies!

This is a funny movie! Eugene Levy carried this film. He makes comedy look effortless!
Of course, you realize .......this is my own opinion.

The Man

Although this is not your run of the mill, basic comedy. With the leading actors so completely different, you might think that they wouldnt work well together, but they are actually a great comedic team. Our family all thought this was a hilarious movie. It was funny right from the start. With top notch actors, good acting and comedic writing I highly recommend this movie. This is a movie thats not only funny, but is also action packed with lots of great car chase scenes. If you like action / comedy flicks then you will like this movie.Lire l'avis complet...

Funny, Action-packed, thrill ride of a film!

Eugene Levy and Samuel L Jackson have such great chemistry together in this film! Will have you busting up laughing and so much fun even the Mrs. will enjoy it!

The Man

Basically, just a pg type of fluffy comedy but the differences between the two leads helps to make it seem more believeable.... its the type of movie you can safely sit down and watch with your parents without feeling awkward afterwards. .. worth giving it a shot... the characters drive it, not the storyLire l'avis complet...

I like this movie because I am a fan of Samuel Jackson and Eugene Levy. They are so opposites in personality and it works. This movie is funny and full of action.

Too Funny

IMHO anyone who did not laugh out loud at this film or find this movie to be funny has the sense of humour of a rock..Jack and Levy were hysterical in this fun to watch film about a very talkative dental supply salesman who goes to a convention where he accidently gets involved in a staged drug buy. Jackson as the hard ass ATF Agent who pulls him into the mix against his will. What perfection, what a mix Levy and Jackson how I hope they come up with a sequal to this fun flick..How Levy kept a straight face during the comedy scenes esp. the gas scenes is beyond me..Kudos to both actors this movie was a lot of fun..Alot of rough langauge so be sure to mind the kiddies..I give this movie 5 out of 5 bars!Lire l'avis complet...
