Biased? Propaganda? Interesting!!!!

OK. You will probably see 2 types of reviews of this movie/documentary. 1: the athiest or agnostic who believes it is a scientific proof of Christ's humanity. 2: christians who scream heresy, blasphemy or bold-faced lies.

I will give you a middle of the road observation. I will caution you; I am a christian, but I do understand the workings of science, archaeology and history in this world.

This is a well made documentary that is entertaining at the least. The use of recreations, computer generated images and special effects is actually impressive for what would be considered a non-mainstream film.

The fact of the matter is that Simcha Jacobovici, the force behind this film and the director (known as the "Naked Archaeologist" on the Discovery Channel), is definitely out to prove that Christ was human. He has sought to do so on many of his Discovery Channel programs. He uses the guise of honest archaeology, but he is without a doubt an atheist or an agnostic.
This is, of course, his perogative and no one should fault him for what he believes. Judge not, lest ye be judged. He will answer to God one day for his actions here on earth.

The actual science behind the discoveries is very interesting and the story reenactments are very well done. The editing is sharp and the documentary as a whole is actually very aesthetically beautiful.

There is a problem. Mr. Jacobovici is taking very large speculative steps in order to arrive at his final conclusion. Nothing, at the end of the video, can be proven for sure.

But, it is still very interesting for any history lover. I think that anyone should watch it. Fear and condemnation of the enemy tends to be a problem for christians, but I believe that we should see, understand and discuss that which differs from our beliefs. Otherwise, we are just keeping the truth to ourselves which ultimately is placing us in the same sphere as Mr. Jacobovici. He is a conspiracy theorist. Don't lower yourself to the same level when it comes to Christ.

Anyway, this is definitely worth watching, but not necessarily believable.

I have since received a reply from someone on another website on which I write reviews and the source seems to be reliable, so I amend my statement above that Mr. Jacobovici is an atheist or agnostic. Apparently, someone close to him believes him to be "one of the most religious people they know", and I have no reason to doubt that. Excellent film compliment to an amazing book about an incredible discovery!

After having read the book of which the film is based, or in a sense, the book being about how the film ultimately comes together, this was a great compliment to a fascinating and well justified and documented story. Its very controversial and really for many Christians and fundamentalists, something that sector of the world, isn't really ready for or willing to accept. Yet, for all of the critics, these archeologists and other scientists, answered every criteria humanly conceivable, and then went a few beyond, to address any potential holes in their processes towards their assessments and conclusions. The book and film are nothing short of astonishing in terms of their discoveries and presentation of evidence. In a way, its sad that so much politics, fear & bad journalism, has clouded the world from truly enjoying what was uncovered here. If it were an Egyptian tomb, it would be celebrated, lauded and more. But because its "Jesus" and his relatives, few want to touch or acknowledge the single most important discovery of our time. Even so, for the truthseekers out there who aren't afraid to actually see what has been uncovered, and can appreciate the flawless evidence and their processes, this is a film and a book to be marveled by.Lire l'avis complet...

Well documented facts and science behind this DVD definitely an eye opener!

Very well put together, intriguing and informative to the end. The science, archaeology and evidence all adds up. Many unknown but well documented facts brought to attention here. The Jesus family tomb should be better known, hopefully this brings it to light for many! This doesn't do away with Christianity by any means, but some people will have to adjust the bonds and limitations that they place on what God can & can't do, to be open minded enough to accept the facts as presented. Disappointed!

I purchased this product thinking it was a film on the historical truth of the Lord Jesus Christ, but instead it was a film denying the truth that He is the promised messiah and savior of the world. I believe it is a shame that the same name that they deny is the same name they use to sell their DVD to unsuspecting and hard working Christian believers who are thinking that their getting a film encouraging their faith, but instead their just getting ripped off. I would encourage others who are looking for similar products to do your research on anything that has our Lord's name on it. That goes for me as well, lesson learned. Interesting & persuasive

Not melodramatic like some of these things can be.
Decent quality production with what seems reasonable effort to present and not exaggerate facts.

Second, how pray tell can DNA tell who you were married to simply by matching two different DNA strands of two adult people? 2000 years ago? could have tested them all.
