Book isn't excessivley long and is easy to read.

Had heard of this story for some time, but had not taken the time to finally read it. Purchased book and when I began to read it, literally couldn't seem to put it down. I began reading one day and finished it the next. Even though the story took place over 60 years ago, its message is still very pertinent for our day. In the wake of all the anger and hatred being spewed around our world today, I'm reminded of the old adage (which is so very true), "Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it!" If we would all do our best to emulate the care and concern the ten Boom family showed others, how much better our world would be.Lire l'avis complet...

Heart-felt gratitude for those who see good in others.

I bought this product because it was recommended by my Sunday School literature and the book was also recommended by a very dear friend, my pastor's wife. The true story is about Corrie Ten Boom who became a missionary for the gospel of Jesus Christ after she and her family experienced being held captive during the time of concentration camps in Germany under Hitler's regime. I can't say that I didn't like anything in the book itself. I just didn't like how Corrie, her family and many thousands of others were so wrongfully treated. But I can say this, "Praise God!" for how Corrie used this horrible experience after she and her family members suffered. I really can't compare this book to any other because I've not read a true-life story such as this. I am, however, currently reading "The Diary of Anne Frank", which is also a true story of one who went through hiding from the German army. We still have this kind of inhumane torture in the world today. Will we ever learn? I pray that Jesus soon returns. Only then will those who acknowledge Christ as their Savior be saved from such cruel and unwarranted punishment. Amen.Lire l'avis complet...

An excellent book that I highly recommend!

This is my favorite book of all time next to the Bible. Corrie Ten Boom shares her life story of adversity and her triumph overcome during Hitler's reign through the strength of Christ. She was imprisoned because she provided a hiding place for the Jewish people whom she had an immense deep love and respect for as the Chosen People. Her testimony lives on albeit she passed in 1983. Her epitaph reads "Jesus is Victor". This book reflects the choices in life and through difficult times even her being starved, beaten, abused and isolated she chose to become better rather than bitter. I purchased this book for my aunt. I highly recommend it!Lire l'avis complet...

Living your Faith

Corrie Ten Boom has such a strong story of Christian Love and Compassion. Though she wasn't a Jew, she became a prisoner of the concentration camp. In her case, despite the horrible things that happened to her, LOVE triumphed over all. I highly suggest this book.Lire l'avis complet...

the hiding place

this is one of the best books i have ever read. i was ill for several years
with undiagnosed disease and when i read this book and saw the sacrificial
suffering that this family endured,my own illness seemed minimal. i knew i could trust God as the family in this book had trusted Him. i have bought several copies of this book to give to people i know that are suffering and need some hope. i would recommend this book to anyone having tough times,an illness or other suffering, it will give a new perspective and help you along.
you may even find a new strength. God bless
